We propose that Missouri should fund programs in schools to hire music and art therapists for counseling by expanding the counseling services in high schools. Many kids can’t access services anywhere else but at school. We would target the school board within Springfield to expand counseling services. While Missouri already has music and art therapy in some elementary school systems, they do not offer these services going into high school when they do have them. We would like to expand the music and art therapy services to Springfield schools 9-12th grade.
